Attack MindedINFO:Stevens was a right winger who spent most of his career at Fulham, playing 413 matches and scoring 126 goals from 1941 to 1959. He was a regular starter from after the end of the war. He played also for Wimbledon, Brentford and Sutton United. It seems that he played a bunch of games for England during wartime.
Stevens was a winger gifted with skills and pace. He was good with both feet and could make lightning quick sprints over 15 yards distances. Moreover he was able in the air as well. Legend George Cohen considered the striker one of the most skillful players he ever came across, even daring to compare him to Stanley Matthews. An automatic choice in Fulham starting XI for years, Stevens was renowned for his particular running style that ended with an accurate cross at great speed or a cut in to shot on goal.
