Ghiandi was a winger or centre forward. He played the most part of his career in Como: 114 matches and 41 goals from 1949 to 1954. He played also for several other clubs including Genoa, Catania, Hellas Verona and Pisa. He retired in 1963. Ghiandi was a solid striker, who possessed strength, good sense of goal, a soft touch, a repertoir of tricks and finesses. He was a practical player with speed on counterattacks and good but never excessive dribbling. He was very effective with the head, could score in 1-on-1 situations or in difficult positions with powerful volleys.
