INFO:
Pedroni was a left wing-half, capable of playing as sweeper and centre back. His career began in 1942 and ended 1961. He had his best seasons in Como from 1948 to 1952: 144 matches and 1 goal. His performances gave him the chance to play for Milan, where he stayed from 1952 to 1956, appearing in 72 games and scoring once but mostly as reserve, first because of physical problems and then due to issues with club's coach Béla Guttmann. The following four seasons he was part of Alessandria, where he played more regularly: a total of 109 matches. He retired at the end of the next season, after a short spell in Pro Vercelli. The discover of Gianni Rivera was credited to Pedroni during the period in Alessandria.
Pedroni was a tough defensive player, gifted with great temperament, ardor and courage, grit and determination. He had a hard kick, was a good header, shrewd, sometimes implacable. He was the one who balanced the defensive play, the last bulwark of safeness, the key player of the team. Moreover, he had reliability when getting out from the pressing of the opponent and good vision of play thanks to his long passes − sometimes so fast and long to reach even the goal − that amused the crowd. One of his many crosses is memorable: during the 3-1 win against Inter in 1951, at the end of one of his usual pushes forward, he delivered a long ball in the penalty box but the ball took a strange direction and tricked the goalkeeper; Vittorio Ghiandi apparently hit the ball with a final touch and the goal was given to him even though Como players believed the goal was to be given to Pedroni.
