INFO

Dino Ballacci was left back, he was Boniperti's nightmare and their clashes are legendary, Boniperti had insomnia on every occassion he had to face with Ballacci. Dino was temperamental player who was often red carded, very strong and brave, determined in tackling, although not genius in technique. He was excellent man marker, it was always in Bologna his duty to mark the most dangerous strikers. Ballacci also practiced Boxing in his youth age. Ballacci grew up in the youth of Bologna, in first team he made his debut on March 10, 1946 in Venice, Bologna match ended 1-2. With rossoblù played for twelve years, becoming the pivot of the team's defense in the fifties, in 1954 he made his only presence in the national team, playing in the Italy-Egypt 5-1. After three seasons in which he played only a few meetings, it became the holder from the 1948-1949 season. He was also a coach in the minor leagues: he was famous for leading the surprising Catanzaro to the Cup final in Italy, then lost to Fiorentina in 1966. Later coached Catania, Prato, still Catanzaro and then the Arezzo. In 1973 he was hired by Alessandria, to whose guidance he won the Serie C 1973-1974 with five days in advance of the end of the tournament. The following year (1974-1975) they triumphed again, but in Series D with Pistoiese. He then returned to Arezzo, then he moved to coach Ancona. With Alessandria he won a new promotion to Serie C1 after the 1980-1981 season. After a season with club Aesernia, Ballacci retired from football in 1988 after a third and final experience In Alessandria.

Quote:
