INFO:

Georg Stollenwerk played all positions on the field, but mainly as inside forward and right back. Georg Stollenwerk was a very talented all-around utility player in the first few years of his career until he settled at the right back position where he truly found his best role and became one of the best in Germany during his active years. For Germany, Stollenwerk played as right half, inside right, center forward, inside left and of course as right back. In his clubs (first Düren, then Köln), he even was deployed as a goalkeeper if need be. Stollenwerk was a fast player with powerful heading. In 1953, Sepp Herberger wanted the promising player to join Kaiserslautern but Stollenwerk signed for Köln instead, which apparently aggrieved Herberger a little bit. In Köln, Stollenwerk continued to impress with his versality until he finally settled as a right back by 1956. Herberger stopped ignoring Stollenwerk in 1955 and thus his international career picked up pace again. His peak as a footballer was taking part in the 1958 World Cup where he played as Germany’s right back in all six games and was rated as one of Germany’s best-performing defenders. He had good speed, especially without the ball, precise passes and was gifted technically. Despite the small size he had enough toughness in challenges and tackles and had also good technique. Schorsch was solid scorer, netting 85 goals in 424 games for Koln. Stollenwerk was the second of three children. His father played at Schorsch Stollenwerk Düren 99th Georg Stollenwerk left the scientific high school and began in a hardware store his business education. He began his soccer career at Düren 99th From 1953 to 1965, the defense and midfield played in the Oberliga West in 1963 and in the Bundesliga for the first FC Cologne. In 424 games he scored 85 hits. From 1 FC Cologne, he was German champion in 1962 and 1964, during the first Bundesliga 1963-64 season but he was not used. In 1952 he took part with the German amateur team in the Olympic Games in Helsinki, where the team finished in fourth place. For the German national football team, he graduated from 1951-1960 a total of 23 caps and scored two goals. For the 1954 World Cup he was not taken into account by Sepp Herberger, at the Soccer World Cup 1958 in Sweden, he reached with the German team to fourth place. Stollenwerk, who had already passed his exam in 1958 as a football coach at the German Sport University Cologne trained from 1963 to 1966, even in the squad of the club, the reserve team of 1 FC Cologne. He then took over until 1969, the amateur side of the FC. At the start of the 1969/70 season he was coach of Bundesliga side Alemannia Aachen at the time was, but only until December of that year. From January to June 1976 he trained the team of the 1st Bundesliga FC Cologne. Today, with a reserve team of 1 FC Cologne his name - the Stollenwerkelf.
