Kees Rijvers was small maestro with outstanding technique and ball control, lively, active and king of the long passes on the width, very intelligent player capable of making lethal last passes and well timed runs in the box, had marvellous leg movements and great tactical awareness, good speed which allowed him to play also as left winger, and he was also remembered as Dutch version of Fritz Walter, since he played especially good on rainy weather. Rijvers, as a player who grew up in the white and green of Breda NAC, was professional in France at the professional club AS Saint-Étienne. Rijvers later came out to Feyenoord and then returned to France. He finished his active career in 1963 off at NAC. In April 1963 he scored his last goal in the Premier League in an away match against AFC Ajax. The match was won 3-1 by NAC. Rijvers played a total of 33 games for the Dutch football team. He made his debut on October 3, 1946 in an away match won 6-2 against Luxembourg. His last game was on March 7, 1960, when he was in an away match against the Surinamese team in the 58th minute was substituted for Cees Groot. Netherlands went on to win 4-3. Rijvers moved to PSV in 1972 and was succeeded by his assistant at Twente Spitz Kohn. PSV, he led in 1975 to the first national title since 1963. In the seasons 1975/76 and 1977/78 was the team champion. Furthermore won Rijvers and PSV in 1974 and 1976 the Asian Cup and the UEFA Cup in 1978 was dragged. In two games, the French SC Bastia in the final reports. In 1986 came back to Rijvers FC head coach and technical director with Theo Spark among themselves, and three years later he became technical coordinator at PSV.
