INFO:

Legendary Eintracht Frankfurt player and captain. Hans started to play as inside forward (sometimes outside left also) but after traffic accident started to play as left wing half. Also since his left foot was injured in the accident, he started to use his right foot as the main one. He was tireless runner, very strong player with good heading and excellent jumping abilities, especially before the accident. Weilbacher also had solid pace but was slow on ball and lacked agility. Had very powerful shot, he used to score from free kicks as well. His headers had good power as well. Hans knew to send good long ball from the back and was able to do good man marking job. Following the commitment to coach Paul Osswald Round 1958/59 improved their performance and harmony took the title in the Oberliga Süd. In the final round of the German football championship 1959, the Frankfurter put unbeaten against 1 FC Cologne, Werder Bremen and FK Pirmasens through. Final opponents were the rivals of the Offenbach Kickers. In a dramatic match with Eintracht Frankfurt won 5-3 after extra time. The European Cup games in the 1959/60 round of national championship competition was the highlight of the sporting career of Hans Weilbächer. On 4 November 1959 began the European game for the harmony. Opponent was the Swiss champion Young Boys Berne. With a free-kick in the fourth minute of the match scored Weilbächer concord-guide and at the same time the first goal of the Frankfurt European Cup. The protégés of Paul Osswald prevailed against Bern, Vienna Sports Club and the Glasgow Rangers, and were thus in the final on 18 May 1960 in Glasgow against the defending champions Real Madrid. In the years 1961 and 1962 succeeded again with the frankfurters Weilbächer as runner-up in the south of the Final Tournament. Overall, the left runners completed 17 games in four finals. On 27 January 1963, he played in the 0-1 home defeat against Oberliga Hessen Kassel his last game for Eintracht Frankfurt. From 1953 to 1963, he brought it to 241 games and 48 goals in the Oberliga Süd. In the new football league, he was still under contract until 1965, he came to use but no more. He finished 1965 with 570 games in 13 years of his career at Eintracht Frankfurt.
