INFO

Francesco Rosetta was probably the first player in Italy who played as libero occassionally. He was fast, well prepared and endurable, and gifted technically. Great captain and leader with excellent sense of anticipating, with solid strength, he was mainly used as centre half but also as a side back to cover Cervato's offensive bursts, with Magnini moving on his stopper position. Played at Novara, in Serie B in 1941-42. Four championships with the shirt-blue night until 1945-46 and then being offered a great chance to play at a high level with Torin. He arrived just one league with 15 appearances in the 1946-47 at age 24 still to go. Fiorentina bought him, came good in 1950 and fifth in 1951. In the national team made debut in Florence 1949, during his first season lily in a Italy-Austria is valid for the International Cup and finished 3-1 for the Blues. In 245 appearances with purple and a goal (April 20, 1952 in Legnano-Fiorentina 1-0) was to demonstrate the continuity and commitment to the colors of this player up to the whole glorious season 1956-57 was a captain on the crest of courage. Then last parenthesis in Verona (1957-58) and finally the retirement to return to his family in Piedmont. Francesco Rosetta died in 2006.

Quote:
