Former Spanish striker. He was centre forward although later in Real he was used even as winger. Tall (at the time) and strong, good scorer with solid footwork, not too fast but pretty skillful with the ball, had excellent positioning in the box and exceptional heading skills. He debuted in the Primera Division Spain still amateurs, with the Royal Society, on January 22, 1950, against Real Madrid, also achieving one of the two goals he scored his team (2-2). A total of seven games played that season with the shirt Sebastian, in which he scored four goals. The summer of 1950 he signed for Atletico Madrid. In the mattress club was part of the so-called glass front, along with Juncosa, Ben Barek, Carlsson and Escudero. In his first season he scored 14 goals in 26 games, with helping to win the league title. After three years wearing the red and white shirt, joined Real Madrid, where he played three more seasons and added another two league titles, two European Cups and two Latin Cups. He retired in 1957. After hanging up his boots, during the 1960s, was technical advisor steering CD Castellón and the Valencian Federation of Football. His best years were spent as a player at Atletico Madrid, where he played as an amateur; premiums charged only 300 or 500 pesetas per win gave the club. He was a member of the famous "Glass Front" which won two league Atletico hand Helenio Herrera, Perez-Paya participated in the second, which he won in Seville with a goal of Larbi Ben Barek. The Alicante was instrumental scoring 14 goals that season. Perez-Paya met the international honeys in 1955, when he was summoned by Spain for two friendly matches against England, one in the Santiago Bernabeu and the other at Wembley, did not return to play for. But soon his true ascent rid away from the soccer fields. After his retirement from active sport at age 29 and with a very good position within the bureaucracy Madrid, opositó the hacienda Corps, and later the Technical Work Inspectors. In August 1957, the BOE reports that Jose Luis Perez-Paya has been appointed Provincial Delegate work in Castellon de la Plana. The news flooded the newspapers of the time, speaking of former footballer as an example for the new generations of athletes. A true nobleman of society so liked in the Spain of the fifties.
