INFO:

Bill Perry is a Blackpool legend, most famous for scoring the winning goal in the last minute to secure the FA Cup in the "Matthews Final" of 1953. Born in South Africa to an English father, he moved to England at the age of 19 and made his debut for Blackpool a year later. He was an extremely quick outside left, very direct and a goalscoring threat, although naturally right footed. He had good technique and was strong and muscular despite not being very tall. He specialised in runs in behind the full back, often laying the ball off to the inside forward and continuing his run so he could get right in behind the defence. He wasn't a wizard of the dribble like his legendary teammate at outside right but his sheer pace over both long and short distances was very difficult to handle. Despite being overshadowed by Matthews, he was the man to score the most important goal in the history of Blackpool. As such, his place in the club's history is secure for all time.

Perry also played 3 games for England due to his English father, scoring 2 goals and claiming 2 assists, both goals and one of the assists coming in a 4-1 win over Spain.
