INFO:

Blagoje Vidinić was a legendary Macedonian goalkeeper, probably best known for being the starting goalkeeper for Yugoslavia in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics, and also at the 1960 European Championships. At these tournaments, Yugoslavia won a silver medal and a gold medal at the Olympics and finished runners up in the Euros. He was a truly giant goalkeeper for his era, standing almost 2 metres tall. Despite this he was agile and had a good jump, and he was not afraid to come off his line and sweep up the ball. His kicks were huge and often reached the edge of the opponent's box. His main weapon when saving shots was his excellent positioning on the line, combined with good reflexes and his huge reach gave him an intimidating presence in goal. Despite this he was inconsistent and had sometimes erratic handling and decision making which prevented him from establishing a bigger reputation, since in his younger days he was considered an extremely talented prospect. He was also a smoker and known for his good humour and personality, he was a popular figure with his teammates. After his retirement he coached Morocco and Zaire at the World Cup, where his Zaire team became both famous and infamous in equal measure.
