INFO:
Perani was a winger, primarly on the right side but used many times on the left too. He spent almost his entire career at Bologna from 1958 to 1974 ─ excluding the 1959-60 season at Padova ─ making 415 appearances and scoring over 80 goals. He played also for Atalanta and Toronto Metros, where he retired in 1974. He gained 4 caps for Italy in 1966, scoring once.
Gifted with outstanding agility and speed especially when making short steps, Perani liked trying the personal action, slipping easily through the defences, surging to the center and scoring. Creative, skillful, hard-working and resourceful, he commanded the attacking play with efficiency. Known for his vision, he was a cross specialist who provided numerous assists mostly from the end of the field, sometimes after luring a defender towards it. He often moved to the midfield, starting his run forward from there or covering the flank well. He possessed an accurate and powerful long range shot, usually unstoppable for the goalkeepers, but he also missed many easy scoring chances. Despite his performances being often decisive, they were also quite inconsistent. Moreover, Perani was prone to get injured due to his thin physique and weakness in physical duels but he still ended the match.
