Agne Simonsson was deep-lying centre forward dropping back to take part in creating the play. Despite the failure at Real Madrid, Agne Simonsson remains one of Sweden's best players of all time. He had a fantastic eye for the game, perfect technique, coolness in tight situations and the ability to always put the team's best first, which made him an excellent game conductor. After two victories over Kalmar FF in the semifinals, he met with the club for local rivals IFK Gothenburg, which was defeated after a 4-2 first leg success despite a 2-3 defeat in the return game.
