Otto is former German midfielder and coach. He was offensive minded wing half although he played sometimes as inside forward as well. Otto was mainly known for his rocket shot, recorded over 130 km/h with old heavy balls, very dangerous shooter and scored decent amount of goals from long distance, free kicks and penalties. He was strong player, but also one of the fastest defensive players of his team, with good passing range and solid ball control, could cover a large part of the field. At VfL Altenbögge Otto Luttrop started to play. Sporting highlights were winning the runner-up in 1959 in the amateur league Westphalia. As Herne was not nominated for the new football league from the 1963/64 season, the ex-Altenbögger had offers from Borussia Dortmund and Karlsruher SC present, he opted for the offer of 1860 and joined the club of coach Max Merkel. The "lion" was followed by three extremely successful years. After wins against Dortmund, 1 FC Kaiserslautern, 1 FC Saarbrücken and FC Altona 93 in the semifinals attracted the "Blue" in the DFB Cup final on 13 June 1964 in Stuttgart against Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 the Cup in the Bavarian capital. In the Bundesliga Round in 1963/64 Luttrop had completed all 30 games and scored five goals. In the second round of the Bundesliga "lion" improved to fourth place, the ex-Herne had missed only one game and repeated his success rate from the previous year. But really outstanding this season were the games in the European Cup Winners Cup. Over Union Sportive Luxembourg, FC Porto and Legia Warsaw, the team at Petar Radenković and Otto Luttrop for the semi-final against AC Torino qualified. At the Stadio Comunale in 1860 but lost the first leg on 20 April 1965 smooth with 0:2 goals. In the final on 19 May at London's Wembley Stadium against West Ham United Otto Luttrop but could not build on its success rate. The team from manager Ron Greenwood prevailed 2-0 gates. At 27, he had, after three years of the Bundesliga Merkel enough and moved to FC Lugano in the Ticino. For 1860 Luttrop had completed 81 Bundesliga games with eleven gates, 15 European Cup with six goals and several missions DFB Cup games in three rounds. He played in 1973/74 against FC Sion, his second Cup win in Switzerland. Also a hit for Sion succeeded in the final. After the first trip to the 2nd Bundesliga at the first FC Mülheim in the season 1974/75 (21 games - 2 goals) was followed by another year at FC Luzern (1975/76) and 1976/77 second appearance in the second Bundesliga at Union Solingen (23 games) before he moved back to Switzerland. At FC Chiasso he finished the 1977/78 his playing career and went to the end of his contract in 1982 in the Trainermetier one. Train at FC and FC Lugano Luttrop worked until 1985 as a coach. To round 1986/87 he accepted the offer of 1 FC Saarbrücken in the 2nd Bundesliga on, in May 1987 the Westphalian learned but in Saarland dismissal. He then worked again in Switzerland, where he took over the leadership training at FC Olten in the National League B.
