Todesco is a former winger and side midfielder on both flanks. He spent most of his career at Como, playing 208 matches and scoring 24 goals in two spells, from 1976 to 1979 and from 1983 to 1989. He also played for Lazio, Genoa and Pisa. He retired in 1990. Todesco was a fast left-footed player, accurate with the right foot as well, not very prolific but more an assist-man, capable of providing accurate crosses either high or low. He wasn't strong and was gifted with good ball control and dribbling ability. This combination made him dangerous not only on the flank but also in the box whenever he made a short sprint, looking for a defender to commit a penalty foul. He wasn't always effective in front of the goal while he was able with first-time shots, headers and occasionally overhead kicks.
