INFO:
Marangon is a former left back. Grew up at Juventus, he never played in the first team. The club wanted to sell him to Catanzaro but he refused. Therefore he joined Lanerossi Vicenza, where he spent most of his career, playing 145 matches from 1975 to 1980. However he's mostly remembered for being the left-back of Hellas Verona during the 1984-85 Serie A winning season. He played a total of 112 games for the Gialloblu. He spent seasons also at Napoli, Roma and Inter, retiring in 1987 because Inter's president didn't want to sell him to Tottenham Hotspur. He capped once for Italy in 1982. Throughout his career, he was always considered a regular starter due to his clas − except during his last spell at Inter − even though he was an impulsive and sometimes troublesome man.
Marangon was a fast, agile and technically gifted defender. He was very effective when attacking thanks to his quick runs, good feet and lethal dribblings down the flank. When he reached the end of the field, he often delivered very good crosses to the box for teammates like Elkjær Larsen, Galderisi or the other offensive defender Briegel. His speed was helpful also when he had to defend, in addition to a nice covering ability.
