INFO:
Alessandro Bianchi is a former right side midfielder or winger, capable of playing also as wing back. He spent almost his entire career for Cesena and Inter. He first played for the Bianconeri from 1985 to 1988 - excluding the loan to Padova in 1986-87 - and again from 1996 to 2001, for a total of 188 matches and 4 goals. He had his best time with the Nerazzurri from 1988 to 1996, scoring 13 goals in 236 games. Unfortunately, he began suffering several injuries after the 1991-92 season, disabling him to play most matches for the last four seasons in the team. Despite that though, he was called up 9 times for Italy exactly between 1992 and 1994.
Bianchi was a short and fast player who ran a lot and sacrificed for the team. He was gifted with exceptional dynamysm, great tactical awareness and good technique. He was mostly offensive but didn't ignore the defence when needed. A good passer of the ball, he especially delivered accurate crosses to the box, also with the outside. He was one of those players who preferred distributing ball as soon as he could. However, he sometimes showed quick dribbling skills to overcome the opponents. His constant movement made him capable of covering the side and overlap, changing the role with Matteoli when he was building up the play or Bergomi when he was surging to the center to mark a striker. Otherwise, he acted as third attacker to support the centre forward when Ramón Díaz was in a less advanced position. He didn't score many goals but he occasionally pulled off superb volleys or shots from outside area. Bianchi's performances were always good but he was overshadowed by world-class players like Brehme, Matthäus and the aforementioned Díaz among others.
