Lively, fast, eye-catching, he was not impressed by anything. A certain courage and sureness was visible in his game that makes you forget his physical limits. Bezaz moved non-stop, was hard working, had a strong and sharp cross and decent heading game. His crosses usually come somewhere between the middle of the field and the 18 yard, and very often land on heads of Stopyra, Anziani or Revelli.. Moussa Bezaz was born in Algeria, but of French nationality. He began his playing career with Epinal before discovering the professional game with FC Sochaux, whom he joined in 1974. Initially, he joined the Academy at Sochaux, before making his first appearances for the First Team as of 1976. He spent seven seasons at the club, making some important appearances in getting 2nd place in 79/80 and reachign 80/81 UEFA Cup semi-final for the club. Bezaz was a versatile player, who could play on either flank, and was initially playing as a winger., then converted into a right-back. With 149 appearances to his name, he left Sochaux to sign for Stade Rennais. With his rather diminutive stature, he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the First Team line-up in Rennes. He would play in just over 10 matches in his first season, and made only two appearances in the second. He finally left Rennes in 1985 and bounced back in the French Third Division with Epinal, where he spent the next two seasons. In 1987, he moved on to join Chaumont, where he would end his career as a player, and begin his managerial career. Spoiler: show |
