Evans is a former right winger or right side midfielder. After starting his career in his native country Fiji, first at Labasa and then moving to Ba in 1986, he played for American team St. Louis Steamers in 1987. He eventually spent almost a decade in Canada at Vancouver 86ers from 1987 to 1995, scoring nearly 50 goals in over 200 matches. After spending numerous more seasons in Fiji and in American lower leagues, he retired in 2008. He capped for Fiji 5 times, and played a major role in a historic 1-0 win over Australia in a 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifiers knockout match. Unfortunately, Australia won the second leg 5-1.
Considered the most elegant player in Fiji history, he was a talented wizard on his side. He was a nuisance for the opposition defences as he was capable of turning the game out of nowhere, mesmerising the Canadian fans with his turns of speed, deft skills, and touches with the outside. Furthermore, he was a fine scorer.
