Al-Musaibeah was known as the Saudi Maradona to Majed Abdullah's Desert Pelé, he was the best playmaker in the country during the 80s and his small size, dribbling ability and dominant left foot were reminiscent of the Argentine genius. He was an attacking midfielder with a complete focus on creating scoring chances for his teammates. He was an excellent dribbler, with his short legs and acceleration he could weave between defenders and every single time he got the ball he would turn and drive forward with it at his feet. He would often leave two or three players behind him and then try to play a killer pass between the lines for the strikers in front of him. He was just an average scorer himself although he scored some spectacular goals and even directly from corner kicks. He could combine nicely with his fellow midfielders at times but he was more like a one-man show, constantly trying to create something out of nothing. Off the field he was known for his sportsmanship and good nature, and he is respected by all Saudi football fans regardless of club affiliation. With the Saudi national team he played 95 games and won the Asian Cup in 1984 and 1988, and he spent his entire club career with Al-Hilal from 1979 until his surprising retirement at the age of only 30 in 1991.
