INFO:
Chalermwoot is a former central and attacking midfielder. He spent almost his entire career at Bangkok Bank, playing 416 matches and scoring 102 goals from 1976 to 1996. He retired a year later. He gained 176 caps for Thailand and scored 18 goals. His most important match with the national team was arguably the 1985 Southeast Asian Games final, when he scored both goals ─ one with a diving header ─ in the 2-0 win against Singapore. He was then included in the 1986 AFC All Star team.
One of the most prominent players in Thailand football history, Chalermwoot was regarded as the best midfielder in the country in the early 1980s. He was compared to English midfielder Glenn Hoddle for the similar style of play and tactical awareness. Chalermwoot had to control the central area of the field and most importantly open the space for his teammates with accurate passes from active play or set piece. He wasn't only a playmaker capable of providing assists but he was a very good finisher as he scored a remarkable amount of goals.
