INFO:
Turchetta was a side midfielder or winger, occasionally used also as attacking midfielder or centre forward. His professional career began in 1978 at Varese, where he played 135 matches and scored 20 goals in six seasons. He joined Hellas Verona in 1984, being a reserve − a precious one − but playing 51 games in all competitions, scoring 3 times and winning the 1984-85 Scudetto. He then played 108 matches and scored 9 goals for Brescia from 1986 to 1989. He transferred to Cesena in 1989, scoring 3 goals in 92 appearances in three years. He retired in 1996.
Turchetta was a very good player, who could've done more in his career if it wasn't for his lack of aggressiveness he was criticized for. He was fast, especially on acceleration, and gifted with outstanding dribbling and technique. He tricked his opponents easily and it was said that he could dribble an orange for half an hour. He surely wasn't a scorer but was an excellent crosser, who delivered accurate balls, which even though weren't fast most of the times, from either active play or corner. He also possessed a fine ability from free kick.
