INFO:

Petr Čech is a legendary Czech goalkeeper, one of the best in the world at his peak and considered along with Schmeichel to be the greatest goalkeeper of the Premier League era. During his long career with Chelsea he set lots of defensive records, including the record number of clean sheets in the Premier League and in one season. He was a crucial part of the amazing Chelsea defence that only conceded 15 league goals in the 04/05 season. Čech was a truly fantastic goalkeeper, with his size and reflexes helping him make some astonishing saves. He could cover the entire goal easily and could reach even powerful shots right in the corner of the goal. He could make the most difficult saves look very easy, and his mistakes were rare. Čech famously suffered a horrible head injury in his 3rd season with Chelsea that forced him to wear a helmet for the rest of his career. After that, his form suffered for a few years as he lacked confidence, but he had another period of excellence in the early 2010s during which he was one of the main protagonists of Chelsea's Champions League win of 2012. He is the most capped player of the Czech Republic and is especially remembered for his performances at Euro 2004 where he was voted in the team of the tournament. Despite his fantastic career, it could be said he never reached his full potential because of his injury. If he continued his development from his first two seasons at Chelsea, he could have been one of the very best goalkeepers of all time. Instead, he's probably one of the 20 or 30 greatest in history.
