Oddo is a former right-back. Grown up at Milan, he debuted professionally with Renato Curi in Italian lower leagues. Milan then loaned him to Fiorenzuola, Monza, Prato and Lecco. He was eventually sold to Napoli in 1999. After a good two-year experience with Hellas Verona from 2000 to 2002, he transferred to Lazio, where he had his most successful time, making 172 appearances from 2002 to January 2007, scoring 17 goals. He retired in 2012 after playing for Milan, Bayern München and Lecce. He capped for Italy 34 times, scoring once and winning the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
A very good side-back, Oddo was mostly known for his excellent early crosses which often had great speed and curling. In addition, he possessed accuracy on either foot, solid pace and technical qualities. Therefore, he was a big help in the attack, though he wasn't always equally efficient in the defence. Notably good from dead ball situation, he proved to be especially accurate from the penalty spot during his time with Hellas Verona and Lazio, scoring this way respectively 9 and 13 goals. Also gifted with a powerful shot, he could threaten the opposing goal from long range.
