INFO:
Yasser is a former attacking midfielder, capable of playing also on the wings in both midfield and attack. His career started in 2000. He played for several Qatar teams including Al-Rayyan, Al-Sadd and Al-Wakrah. His career had its highlights in Europe, where he had short experiences in Belgium at Royal Antwerp and Lierse, in Cyprus at AEL Limassol, in Portugal at Sporting de Braga and Boavista. He even played a League Cup match for Manchester City in 2005-06. He also spent some seasons in Egypt at Al-Ahly, Zamalek and Wadi Degla, where he retired in 2018. He gained 55 official caps for Qatar, scoring 7 goals.
Nicknamed "Messi of Qatar" due to his playstyle, Yasser was a highly technical and extremely agile player, capable of overcoming the defenders, moving between them and keeping the ball thanks to his dribbling, tricks and turns. Quicker on long distance, he needed space to surge forward, dribble his opponents accurately and provide assists for his teammates. He wasn't a prolific finisher, having his best scoring rates at AEL Limassol in 2004 and Zamalek between 2010 and 2011, respectively with 4 goals in 16 games and 9 in 42, proving though to possess fine shot technique and enough timing in front of the goal to tap the ball in. He was instead an excellent assist-man, equally effective with crosses or low-ground passes, most of the times with the right-foot. His ball distribution or personal actions more than usually came from the center of the midfield after he supported the defence and recovered the ball. He likely didn't have an optimal form since he missed numerous games or played only a portion of them.
