Gerrard is a former central or attacking midfielder, versatile and capable of playing as right-sided or defensive midfielder and occasionally right-back in his early years. He spent almost his entire career at Liverpool where he made 710 appearances and scored 186 goals from 1998 to 2015, winning several trophies including the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League. The club's longest serving captain, he filled the role from 2003 to 2015. He retired in 2016 after spending one season in the United States with LA Galaxy. He capped for England 114 times, scoring 21 goals.
One of the greatest players in Liverpool's history and one of the best midfielders England has ever produced, Gerrard proved to be world-class since his early years, showing great technical skills, excellent ball distribution, good pace, a terrific shot and outstanding stamina which was highlighted especially when he was deployed on the flank. Often involved in the defense, in particular when playing as defensive midfielder or side-back, he had a fantastic tackling ability with great timing. After establishing himself predominantly as a central midfielder, he became more involved in the attack but he still didn't forget about defending. His passes were now tremendously accurate and extremely fast, particularly his crosses. Due to his highly improved crossing ability, he was often in charge of corner and free kicks. His tackling was sometimes off and earned him several cards, but he was nonetheless outstanding in winning back the possession of the ball. He was everywhere in the field, supporting his teammates in his own half and then starting the action or finishing it with a late run to the box or a long range shot with terrific power. He could be seen dribbling a few opponents from time to time, cutting to the middle and attempting the shot or providing a through pass. He scored dozens of times in the last minutes of the match, showing the mentality of a team player. Furthermore, he scored nearly 50 penalties for Liverpool, starting to do so with higher frequency since the 2008-09 season. He scored half of them in his last years at the club. Gerrard's only unremarkable ability was probably his heading which he was never very good at, although he scored some headers.

COND/CONS are way slightly high at least CONS, it can be on 6 and it is fair enough for him, same for WFA

PD: Added DMF and SS, he was a complete player and could cover any role in the midfield

Yes any suggest.
Maybe a raise of 1 or 2 point in ACC and swap the TS with DS.
Also, short the era to 2007.

I didn't work on his prime set, but i was amazed about how Gerrard was so fucking good playing in his 20's, even taken in count how the premier league was(and still is) back then, how phisycal and competitive the game was, at least for me he was a tier above Owen regarding their importance in the team's functioning.

stamina and short pass speed should be both on red

I think that his long passes were more consistently fast in comparison to his short passes. His lofted passes looked fast even when they had a downward trajectory. And the combo 94 STA + 92 MEN should already make him incredible resistant. But more opinions are welcome.

He should have PK Taker, he scored 46 penalties for Liverpool. Also I think his SA should be higher, he was a consistent threat from any position, although he did take a lot of shots. On the other hand TMW seems a bit high, he was known for sometimes playing “hero ball” and trying to win the game on his own, taking shots and playing passes that weren’t always the smart thing to do.

He did score a lot of penalties but most of them in the second part of his career. For example, he scored none for Liverpool in 2004-05, four in 2005-06, only one in 2006-07, five in 2007-08, seven in 2008-09. He wasn't a deadly penalty taker in all the years I considered for his prime set. I guess I can add the special ability correlated to the 2007-2009 period.


I was thinking about higher SA but many of his shots didn't look good at all. Maybe it has to do with his teamwork though, as you suggested.
He really attempted the shot when he shouldn't have or tried and failed a difficult pass when he had better options. I'll fix SA and TW.
