Turci was a goalkeeper. He spent most of his career at Cremonese and Udinese, playing 141 matches for the Grigiorossi from 1992 to 1996 and 203 for the Bianconeri from 1996 to 2002. He played also for Treviso, Alessandria, Sampdoria and Cesena, where he retired in 2007.
Tall and gifted with a strong physique, Turci was a good and reliable goalkeeper, who never had the chance to play for Italy due to the competition with the likes of Luca Marchegiani, Gianluca Pagliuca, Angelo Peruzzi, Francesco Toldo and a young Gianluigi Buffon. His saves were simple but efficient and he hardly made remarkable mistakes. He was complete, very capable out of the goal and in 1-on-1 situations, gifted with good leap and excellent reaction to save shots and headers from short distance and goalkeeping skills to reject long range shots. He was also able at blocking penalty kicks with over 20 penalties saved, over 10 only with Udinese.
