Jahn Ivar Jakobsen who is mostly known for his nickname "Mini" is a legendary Rosenborg player and a Norwegian international. He earned his nickname because of his small stature. He was crowd favorite, and had specific celebration style - after every goal, he did a salto flip which was very exciting for the crowd. He played mostly as a winger, and was a part of Rosenborg team that started their dominance in Norway, and also a part of their team who had some excellent European adventures. In 1990, he turned professional and signed for the Young Boys, leaving a very good impression there. In his younger years, he was very fast and agile player, he posed a threat when surging from the wing into an open space. He was able to quickly get round the opponent, he controlled the ball very well and also was very fast with the ball in his feet. When he isn't running towards goal, he ran to the goal line and then tried to deliver a cross or a cut back pass for his teammates. He was always prepared to run behind the defenders and get into the scoring opportunity. Despite his small stature, he was very good in aerial duels and scored decent amount of headers, mostly because of his high jump. Later in his career, his passing skills improved a lot, but he lost most of his speed, especially on long distances. He then changed his playing style, and he mostly came back close to the middle line to get the ball, and then tried to organize the attack with quality passes. In later years, he became more of a team player. For Norwegian NT he played in 65 games, scoring 11 goals. He was part of the national team at two world cups, in 1994 and 1998.
