Kevork Mardikian is considered one of the most prominent stars of Syrian football, renowned for his exceptional skills and decisive goals that captivated fans for years. He began his career in school before joining Hottin SC, progressing through the ranks to the first team. He then moved to Al-Jaish SC in 1976. He represented the Syrian national team in 90 international matches, participating in major tournaments such as the 1980 AFC Asian Cup and the 1980 Moscow Olympics. He was named the best Arab player in 1978. Distinguished by his team-oriented style and ball control, he never received a red card throughout his career, reflecting his exceptional discipline on the field. After retiring due to recurring injuries, he turned to coaching, establishing a football academy and coaching several clubs and national teams, contributing to the development of generations of Syrian players.
