INFO:Nizar Mahrous was one of the most prominent strikers in the history of Syrian football during the 1980s. He was a gifted player who combined physical strength, high technical skill, and composure inside the penalty area, making him both a clinical striker and an intelligent playmaker. He led Al-Wahda Club and the Syrian national team during their golden era, representing Syria in three World Cup qualifiers (1986, 1990, and 1994). Mahrous is considered the first Syrian player to play professionally abroad, moving to Oman’s Saham Club in 1990. He was renowned for his smart positioning and dribbling in tight spaces. Beyond scoring, he was famous for his precise passes that set up teammates perfectly. He formed legendary partnerships in the national team, most notably with the icon Abdul Kader Kardaghli and other stars of the golden generation. His name remains etched in history as a master of the game before transitioning into a successful coaching career at the continental level.
