Malek Shakuhi is considered one of Syria's most prominent goalkeepers, earning the title 'Dean of Arab Goalkeepers' for his long-standing career. His journey began with Hutteen SC and was crowned with numerous titles at Jableh SC and Al-Jaish SC. Internationally, he represented the Syrian national team in nearly 90 matches, rising to fame as a hero in the 1988 Arab Cup after his historic penalty saves against Egypt. He also participated in two editions of the AFC Asian Cup (1984 & 1988). Shakuhi retired in 2002 to transition into coaching, leaving behind a great legacy as one of the finest to ever stand between the posts in Asia.
