INFO:Badar Al-Maimani is regarded as one of the most prominent footballers in the history of Oman. He first joined the national team in 2003 and was part of the golden generation that brought Omani football back to prominence on the Gulf and Asian stages. He shone notably in the Arabian Gulf Cup tournaments, emerging from Gulf Cup 16 and playing a key role in Oman’s progression to the finals of Gulf Cups 17 and 18, before helping secure the country’s first-ever Gulf Cup title at Gulf Cup 19 in 2009. At the continental level, he played an important role in the qualifiers and finals of the AFC Asian Cups in 2004 and 2007, scoring decisive goals, most notably Oman’s only goal against Australia in the 2007 Asian Cup. He also featured in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for 2006, 2010, and 2014, scoring a brace against India. Al-Maimani was distinguished by his playing style as a creative playmaker with excellent vision, an ability to score from free kicks, and a knack for making the difference in major matches, leaving a clear legacy in the history of the Omani national team.
