INFO: He was a player recognized for his versatility, technique and leadership on the field. Extremely agile and a great attack feeder, in a dynamic balance between defense and attack. Waldemar started at Palmeiras as a midfielder (replacing the player Canhoto) and ended up as a defender, also establishing himself for a time as a defensive midfielder. With great skill, Waldemar was nicknamed the "Father of the Ball" and, in 1958, he was honored with a bust in the gardens of Parque Antártica. Just like Nilton Santos did with Botafogo, Waldemar Fiúme, throughout his career, played only for Palmeiras.
