INFO: Geraldo Scalera was a former Brazilian right-back who made his name playing for Ferroviária and Palmeiras.
Geraldo began his career at União São João de Araras in 1960, but made his mark in São Paulo state football during his time at Ferroviária between 1962 and 1965. He played 132 games for the ‘Locomotiva’. His good performances led him to Palmeiras in 1965. His first opportunity was against Corinthians, in a game won by Alviverde 2–0 at Pacaembu. At Palmeiras, Geraldo Scalera was São Paulo state champion in 1966, Taça Brasil champion in 1967, and runner-up in the Libertadores in 1968. In total, he played 60 official games wearing the alviverde shirt. He also played for Juventus-SP, Rio Preto, and Marília. His career ended prematurely in 1971 due to repeated knee injuries.
