Jucilei was a defensive midfielder with a strong physical presence, good ball control and accurate tactical reading, with the ability to act both as a first-line defender and as a more advanced midfielder, standing out for his strength in tackling, efficient positioning and quality in short passes. He gained notoriety at Corinthians, where he established himself as a starter due to his consistency and intelligence in the game, which earned him Bola de Prata in 2010 as one of the best defense midfielders in Brasileirão and call-ups to the Brazilian National Team in the same year. Transferred to Anzhi, in Russia, he was part of an ambitious international project by the club, demonstrating his adaptation to European football and maintaining a good competitive level. After stints in other alternative markets, such as the Middle East and Asia, he returned to Brazil and played for São Paulo, standing out especially at the beginning, being recognized for his physical imposition, tactical discipline and commitment, although he faced a decline in performance in the following seasons and "retiring" a few years later.
