Antoni Gałecki is one of the greatest and most beloved figures in Łódź Sports Club history. He began playing football in 1919 with the school team at the "Uczelnia" gymnasium (now the Nicolaus Copernicus Lyceum). In 1922, he joined ŁKS' youth team. He made his debut with the first team under Lajos Czeisler in 1926 and, a year later, on October 27, 1928, with the Polish national team. He played over 500 matches for Łódź Sports Club and, in 1934, alongside Władysław Karasiak, coached the first team. After returning to Poland in February 1947, the communist authorities prevented him from continuing his career with his beloved Łódź Sports Club (although he did manage to play four more matches for ŁKS). He became the coach of Boruta Zgierz.
