He began his career at Borac from Split. He then signed for the city's strongest club, Hajduk Split. He immediately established himself in the first team, forming a midfield trio with Mirko Borovčić-Kurir and Veljko Poduje.
In 1927, he won the first Yugoslav championship with the team. In a short tournament for six participants, Hajduk finished two points ahead of BSK Belgrade. Dešković played four matches in the competition and scored one goal. At the end of the season, the champion had the opportunity to participate in the newly created international tournament for the top clubs of Central Europe: the Mitropa Cup. In the first round of the competition, Hajduk lost twice to Rapid Vienna.
He died in 1943 during World War II at Porte near Omiš.
