He was a midfielder who played for ŠK Bratislava and shortly afterward on loan at CA Paris. He was selected among France Football's top 20 midfielders in the world in 1965.
During the Czech Republic's tour of Mexico in 1948, he was seriously injured in the first match against Atlanta (2-0) and did not play again.
He played seven matches for the Czechoslovak national team between 1946 and 1948.
