He was one of the municipal team's greatest idols, forming the famous trio known as the Three Kittens with Tito Drago and "Caricho" Guzmán. In 1948, he participated with Deportivo Municipal in the South American Champions Championship held in Chile. Despite losing the first three matches against continental powerhouses (Vasco da Gama, River Plate, and Nacional), the team decisively defeated Colo-Colo, Emelec, and Litoral of Bolivia, finishing fourth. Mosquera performed magnificently in the tournament, scoring four goals. In 1949, he traveled to Colombia to sign for Deportivo Cali, where he remained for two seasons, where he was part of the famous Rodillo Negro team alongside Guillermo Barbadillo and Valeriano López. After two years in Peru, Mosquera returned to Peru in 1951 to play for Deportivo Municipal again. The following year, he was signed by the popular Alianza Lima team, where he formed part of the famous forward line that included Félix Castillo, Guillermo Barbadillo, Valeriano López, Vides, and Óscar Gómez Sánchez.
