Huh Jung-moo is a former South Korean footballer who played a significant role in the national team during the 1980s. He was part of the squad that competed in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, marking South Korea’s return to the tournament after more than three decades. He also represented his country in multiple AFC Asian Cup tournaments, contributing experience and stability to the side. At club level, Huh spent the majority of his career with Hyundai Horang-i (now Ulsan HD FC), where he became a key and consistent presence. He also had a notable period in Europe with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, gaining valuable international experience at a higher level of competition before returning to Korea to finish his playing career.

Huh began his career as an attacking player, primarily operating as a forward or a winger, but his role evolved significantly over time. During his spell at PSV Eindhoven, strong competition in forward positions pushed him into a deeper midfield role, where he adapted well and expanded his versatility. While not particularly fast for a winger, he had strong stamina, and the ability to cover large areas of the pitch. Technically, he could dribble effectively in midfield, maintain control under pressure, and contribute with accurate long passes from deeper areas or crosses into the box. He was comfortable with both feet—though he preferred his right for delivering outside-curved passes from the left flank. Beyond his technical qualities, he possessed a strong mentality and was renowned for his tight marking ability, which reportedly frustrated elite players such as Willem van Hanegem and Johan Cruyff. His tactical intelligence allowed him to operate in multiple roles across the pitch, including forward, winger, central and side midfield, defensive midfield, and even as a fullback, making him a highly adaptable and team-oriented player.
