Glyn Pardoe (1 June 1946) chose City as his cousin Alan Oakes. At nearly 16 years of age he became Manchester City's youngest-ever player, a record which still stands today.

A versatile right-footer who played mainly on the left, Pardoe was a forward early in his career, but converted to full-back in 1966, a position he retained for the rest of his career. Towards the end of the 69/70 campaign Pardoe moved into midfield (wearing number 11) to accommodate the arrival of new record signing Arthur Mann, a left-back signed from Hearts. It was in this position that Glyn was to have perhaps his greatest moment in a City shirt. Having progressed all the way to Wembley and a dreadful pitch for the League Cup Final against West Bromwich Albion it was Pardoe himself who decided the game when he hooked home Colin Bell's header twelve minutes into extra-time to seal a 2-1 victory. Pardoe was part of the Manchester City team in the club's most successful era. Under the management of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison, the club won the league championship, FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup in a three-year period. Unfortunately, after a hard tackling by George Best in 1970, Pardoe suffered a severe injury that put him aside for two years, then he was never like before.
Pardoe usually preferred to move toward the midfield to play as an inverted full-back to deliver some good short passes rather than attaching to the flank to do overlapping run as the orthodox fullback those days. He had quite the skill of a decent forward, can head the ball with high accuracy. He can use both feet efficiently to deliver calmly and effortlessly, although he prefers the right foot. He can defend well with efficient pace for a fullback to deal with highly-skilled forwards, however sometimes he was easily overtaken by the speedy ones, especially some with high explosive ability in short distance.
