Esteban Paredes is a retired Chilean footballer who played as a center-forward. Born in Cerro Paiva, Santiago (08/01/1980), he began his career at Santiago Morning in 2000. He scored his first professional goal on March 18, 2001, notably against Johnny Herrera (the goalkeeper he would score the most goals against in his career). In 2002, he moved to C.D. Puerto Montt, where he won the Primera B title, then went on to Universidad de Concepción, and in 2004 he went to Pachuca Juniors in Mexico where he won the Second Division championship. In 2005, he won the Primera B title again, this time with Santiago Morning. Two years later, Paredes had a stint with Cobreloa, returned to Morning in 2008, until he moved to Colo-Colo in 2009, where he would shine and achieve the most trophies in his professional career: 4 National Championships (Clausura 2009, Clausura 2014, Apertura 2015, and Transición 2017), 2 Copa Chile titles (2016 and 2019), and 2 Chilean Super Cups (2017 and 2018). He also had brief spells with C.D. Atlante and Querétaro F.C. in Mexico, and in 2021 he won his last professional title by winning the Primera B for the third time, this time with Coquimbo Unido. On May 25, 2023, Paredes officially retired from professional football at the age of 42, with his last club being San Antonio Unido.

Esteban Paredes is one of the greatest idols of Colo-Colo and one of the best players in its history. He currently holds the record for being the top scorer in the Chilean Primera División with 221 goals, surpassing Francisco Valdés with 215. He is also the third all-time top scorer for Colo-Colo with 198 goals, behind Carlos Caszely (208) and Francisco Valdés (205). Additionally, he is the top Chilean scorer in the Copa Libertadores de América with 23 goals in 36 matches and the top international scorer in Colo-Colo's history with 22 goals in 33 games, surpassing Francisco Valdés and Ivo Basay (20). For Colo-Colo, he was twice the top scorer of the Copa Chile with 7 goals in 8 matches in 2015 and 8 goals in 8 matches in the 2016 edition. At Santiago Morning, he was the top scorer of the Chilean Primera B in 2005 with 25 goals in 32 matches. Throughout his career, he scored 361 goals in 655 matches, making him the second highest-scoring Chilean player in history, only behind Osvaldo Castro, who scored 368 goals in 622 matches.
