INFO:He was named one of the most talented strikers in the country in the second half of the 70s. Fast, agile, aimed at the goal, he had a fighting character, boldly took the initiative in completing attacks, and was strong in the air, played well with his head. He stood out with original dribbling, he knew how to break through on goal without preparation.
He played in the Tashkent "Pakhtakor" in 1972-1979. For Pakhtakor, the 18-year-old striker made his debut in the 1972 season, scored 7 goals in the championship and helped the club win the competition of the first league and go to the top. In the same year, he made his debut in the youth team of the USSR. Despite invitations from the strongest clubs in the country, the player did not agree to transfer to another club and spent his entire short career, which was interrupted by a plane crash in 1979, in the Tashkent "Pakhtakor". In total, he played 108 matches in the highest league of the USSR championship, scored 26 goals. (In total 188 games, 56 goals).
He played his first match for the USSR national team at the age of 18 in October 1974, coming on as a substitute against the Irish national team in a qualifying match for the European Championship. In the future, regardless of the change of coaches of the national team, he was regularly involved in games. In total, he played 18 matches for the first team from 1974-1978 and 7 matches for the Olympic team, in which he scored 1 goal. Despite the fact that each coach (Beskov, Lobanovskiy, Simonyan) had his own concept of the game, and the composition changed quite dramatically, Vladimir Fedorov was attracted to the national team by all three coaches. The most significant was the participation of the Tashkent football player in 1976 in the final part of the XXII Olympic Games in Canada. Vladimir Fedorov is the only football player in Uzbekistan who is the winner (bronze medal) of the Olympic Games.
In the list of the best football players of the USSR - 2 times (1974 - No. 2, 1976 - No. 3)
At the age of 25, he died along with the Pakhtakor team in a plane crash over Dneprodzerzhinsk .
