Where is Paulo Vítor? |

Goalkeepers: Castilho and Félix deserve the first team. In the reserves we have Veludo (113 matches) and Fernando Henrique (264 and 2010 Série A winner). I'd add Paulo Vítor (365 matches and 1984 Série A winner) and Diego Cavalieri (317 and 2012 Série A winner). I'd keep Fernando Henrique but then I need a choice among Veludo, Batatais (308 matches) and Marcos Carneiro de Mendonça (127 but also 15 caps for Brazil and he's the first great Fluminense's goalkeeper, so he would be a nice recall to the club's origins). Defenders: There are only six defenders and a second right back is needed here. Jair Marinho (258 games) would be the best addition in my opinion, unless you suggest a better option. Of course Gérson can be moved to reserves (57 matches, had his peak at Flamengo and Botafogo, was at Fluminense at the end of his career). Midfielders: A part of Gérson, I'd also move to the reserves Dirceu (55 games, only one season at the club) and maybe Paulo Cézar Caju (85 appearances, had his best time at Botafogo). Denílson (433 games, won the 1970 Série A) and Jandir (325 and winner of the 1984 Série A) could be good choices. Strikers: What about Lula (376 matches, 102 goals, 1970 Série A winner)? He would be a good choice on the left wing, since the team has Telê Santana on the right. I'm also thinking about Washington (305 games and 124 goals, 1984 Série A winner) or even more Fred (288 and 172, winner of 2010 and 2012 Série A). The two strikers I'd replace are Carlyle (105 games and 64 goals) and maybe Assis (179 and 55 but was part of the 1984 Série A winning team) or Ézio (237 matches and 119 goals, didn't win major titles but he's considered a symbol anyway). Any thought? |

I think that this team (as Botafogo and Corinthians) can be updated now. |

I think Waldo should be the first choice striker here. Better player than Fred, scored more than Fred for the club. |

Dirceu played only one season in Fluminense and wasnt something special to make him an important player for the club. Dirceu was more relevant for Vasco and he is not there. He was a key player in Vasco. |

He was a key player in Vasco. 1) He played in two years at Vasco da Gama only three matches more than he did at Fluminense in one year (considering only league games). 2) He's not that important and, in fact, I had put him as reserve. I replaced him though with Rubens Galaxe. 3) I personally don't see him necessary for Vasco da Gama either. |

I was not saying he had to be added at Vasco, just comparing him at both clubs. He was more relevant at Vasco than at Fluminense and he was here and not there. I dont think he was a reserve in Vasco, where did you read that? He actually was first eleven in Brazil during the 78 World Cup during the time he was playing for Vasco. It would be at least weird if he was first 11 in Brazil and reserve in Vasco. He made a great midfield with Zé Mario, Zanata and Guina. "I personally don't see him necessary for Vasco da Gama either." Me neither, just giving you an argument to take him out from Fluminense. |

Hey mate, there were two importants forwards called Washington in Fluminense's history, Washington Coração Valente and Washington from Casal 20. It is important to explain which one is this among the reserves. |

If so, I think they can put Washington (1960). |

What about Flavio Minuano? I've seen that his career in Flu was short. Although it was successful one, maybe he can be replaced with some other player from reserves. This is just a question, not a suggestion. If you consider him bigger player from the club than the ones from reserves, I'm ok with that. Btw, Fluminense is my favorite Brazilian club, so I'm looking forward to this team being fully updated. |
