I don't see the need for Acosta in the first team, if you have Scotta, Langara, Pontoni, Sanfilippo and Fischer in the team then Acosta would be the 6th choice CF here, and he didn't win many important titles. That's why I said Diego Garcia should be here, he's the club's second all time scorer, was a very important part of the first great San Lorenzo team in the late 20s/early 30s and was a goalscoring inside forward that could be a strong backup for both Martino and the strikers.

If it's for San Lorenzo, then Acosta is by no means the 6th striker. And despite his goalscoring record, bar Bernardo Romeo, Diego García was not more important for San Lorenzo than the other 5 forwards. Anyways, that's subjective, I suppose.

It's not about being subjective or objective. An AS team is supposed to have starters and substitutes for all positions. There's no need to include six centre forwards when the team needs inside forwards.
I also believe that I found the best possible left-back to be a reserve for Rosl. Raúl Páez was a left-back and left-half who also played as right-back. He was quite important during the 1960s.

But you can't always find adequate substitutes for all positions. If you want wingers instead of center-forwards, maybe the best options are Dorval (RWF) or Victorio Casa (LWF), but they are nowhere near close to Scotta's, Sanfilippo's, Fischer's, etc..., level of importance to the club.
Same goes for left-backs; if it's not Rosl, then it has to be Bottinelli, Paredes or Páez, but in reality, they aren't close to All-Star level.

Maybe in this case it's better to leave some positions without substitutes. At the end of the day most players have secondary positions, like, for example, as you said, Ramón Heredia who could play as a left-back and could work as an -improvised- Rosl sub.

Then, I guess Calics stays in the first team. Although, I still believe that adding a second left-back instead wouldn't be a bad choice.

In reality, no one talked about wingers. As you can see, the best XI has two attacking midfielders. And if you want two wingers instead, you can have Farro on the right and Fischer on the left. Of course, there's no need of more wingers since both Farro and Fischer are substitutes to begin with.
Also, you mentioned Victorio Casa. I'm aware of his status among San Lorenzo's fans. But let's take his career at San Lorenzo. There are wingers who had more success, even in comparison to Horacio Doval. I'm talking about Arturo Arrieta, Norberto Boggio, Alfredo Carricaberry, Rubén Cavadini and Oscar Ortíz.

Anyway, this is the update I propose:

In my opinion, Torrico can replace Buttice; for most San Lorenzo fans, Torrico is the most important goalkeeper in their history, but as far as skill goes, I don't think he is better than Irusta. Anyways, I believe his name should be on the first team. And Mierko Blazina should be in the reserves instead of Sebastián Saja.

One could argue Zubieta was not a midfielder for San Lorenzo too. As far as I'm aware he was a right-side defender, and he is remembered like that in most of the team's memorabilia. And as I said before, Alberto Acosta has to be on the first team.

Other suggestions I would make are Claudio Biaggio, Walter Perazzo and Victorio Casa in the reserves.

I'd wait for other opinions about Torrico replacing Buttice. While Blazina can replace Saja. I don't see a problem with it.

Most sources describe Zubieta as mediocampo defensivo and interior derecho. He can stay in the midfielders section. And while I wouldn't mind Acosta in the first team, it's been already said that this team doesn't need another centre-forward.

Then why adding Diego García? And Zubieta I guess it's fair. He was a right-half and a right-back, so midfielder is okay, just thought it seemed a bit weird.

Diego García wasn't a centre-forward. He was entreala izquierdo (inside-left). He's the perfect back-up for Rinaldo Martino, as StuartBannigan pointed out.

I forgot to reply to this:

I can find a spot for Biaggio and Perazzo who I already considered for the reserves. I don't see a reason for Victorio Casa being in it, though. I'm aware of his story and status, but 72 appearances and 5 goals for a winger of the 1960s if very little.

Fairs, guess it makes sense now. And regarding Biaggio and Perazzo, I think they are musts. I'm sure there could be a spot in the reserves for them.

I guess the last choice to be made is whether or not Torrico should be in the first team instead of Buttice.

Without any doubt Torrico is the most important GK in the history of San Lorenzo.
