This club is one of the reasons i love south american football! You don't need petro-dollars to be succesfull,only good players and an excellent coach

Btw I don't if Mauro Zárate can be part of the first team, but has a couple of achievements and details in Velez that despite having not long stay in the club, make him a very beloved player. All his brothers have played in Velez, he grew up in the academy of the club, since his debut he was named a "prodigal son" of velez, his fanaticism for the club is great, He reject great offers of money from other clubs from Argentina only to go back to velez. This 2018 he also came back and helped the club avoid go to 2nd Division. People love him very much and he has been named the last great idol of Velez.
