INFO:
Spinosi is a former centre or right back. He began his professional career at Roma in 1967 and played there for three seasons. He eventually came back there in 1978 and spent four more seasons. He played with the Giallorossi a total of 144 matches, scoring 6 goals. He had though his best time at Juventus, where he played 240 times and scored 4 goals from 1970 to 1978, winning several times the Scudetto and a UEFA Cup. He played also for Hellas Verona, Milan and Cesena, where he retired in 1985. He gained 19 caps for Italy.
A versatile defender, Spinosi was initially only a right-back, position he played well thanks to determination, fine technique and ability to push forward. However, he was never a scorer even though he managed to make some goals. When he began to be used more as centre back, he found a role that fit him more. He was a physical man marker, always focused. His good height and ability in the air made him very efficient in the center of the defence. He was renowned for being a tough tackler but he was always fair and never sent off due to a bad faul. He was a natural left-footed but he had to become mainly right-footed when he was still a kid due to a broken left leg after he was hit by a car. Injuries were a curse for Spinosi even during his professional career. In fact, it had a downfall starting from 1974 due to a bad injury that slowed his movements and he already wasn't very fast.
