Why does he have the Montenegrin flag? He was born in current day Serbia and grew up in Croatia, where he also started his career. Most sources lists him as a Croatian.

European sources say he was born in Požarevac therefore he is Serbian, American sources say he was born in Split therefore Croatian. When in doubt it is possible to designate it as simply Yugoslav.
Maybe he changed his birthplace when he arrived in America to avoid problems because he left his country illegally.
On the other hand, this Montenegro story comes out of nowhere.
