INFO:
Ljungberg was an attacking or side midfielder and occasionally as secondary striker. He grew up at Halmstad and played 92 matches, scoring 11 goals, in the first team between 1994 and 1998. He transferred to Arsenal where he became a regular starter and key player for nine seasons. He played for the "Gunners" 328 games and scored 72 goals winning national championships and cup. He left Arsenal in 2007 and joined West Ham United for a season. From 2009 he started playing for several clubs around the world: Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire in USA, Celtic in Scotland, Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan and Mumbai City in India. He officially retired in 2014. The midfielder also won 75 caps for Sweden and scored 14 goals.
Right-footed but very good with the left too and gifted with excellent technique, Ljungberg was a very fast midfielder, hard to catch when he ran from deep equally well on both sides even though he preferred playing behind the strikers. His progressions inside the area, always in time, made him a tough player to stop. He proved throughout his career to be also a prolific scorer but also a player who helped a lot in the back recovering balls thanks to his speed and resistance. Also a good passer, he had at Arsenal an incredible feeling with his teammates especially Bergkamp and Pirès.
