Defence MindedINFO:Bellinelli was a goalkeeper who spent most of his career at Livorno, playing 237 matches from 1961 to 1972. He's considered "the goalkeeper" by Livorno fans, since he's one of the best and arguably the best in that role in the history of the team. He was probably deserving of playing in Serie A. Howoever he never left Livorno, stuck in Serie B and C. He played also for Ravenna before joining the
Amaranto and after leaving them. He retired in 1973.
Bellinelli is remembered by Livorno supporters for being a guardian of the goal. Gifted with great reaction, he was able to make incredible leaps, flying from a side to the other of the goal and saving it even when the ball had difficult trajectories. He was almost unbeatable when he was between the posts, able to stop also powerful shots from the distance. However he was brave and didn't fear to move out of the goal to stop the opponent in 1-on-1 situations. He was often alternated with the second goalkeeper but his performances were always constantly of high level.
